Task Details
The Task Details panel is where you create, edit, and manage a single task. It keeps everything in one place: reference, dates, progress, assignees, and checklist items.

When to open a task
Open a task when you need to:
- Add or edit task details
- Assign work to teammates
- Add a checklist
- Update priority or progress
Create or edit a task
- Open the task from the Task List or create a new one.
- Enter a Task Name and Description.
- Select a Reference Type if the task should be linked.
- Set Start Date and Due Date.
- Choose Priority and Progress Stage.
- Assign users and add checklist items if needed.
- Click Save (or close the dialog to save).
Tasks save when you click Save or close the panel with the X, backdrop, or Escape.
Reference types
A task can be linked to a record or kept personal.
- Shipment: linked to a shipment or quote request.
- Customer: linked to a CRM customer record.
- Personal: no reference; a private task.
When you select Shipment or Customer, a search box appears so you can find and attach the correct record.

Dates, priority, and progress
Dates
- Start Date: when work begins.
- Due Date: target completion date.
Dates are color-coded to show urgency. Overdue tasks appear in red.
Priority
- Low
- Medium
- High
- Critical
Priority helps teams understand urgency at a glance.
Progress stage
Stages represent status:
- Not Started
- In Progress
- On Hold
- Information
- Completed
Moving a task to Completed marks it done in the task list.
Assigning work
Use Assign To to select one or more users. Assigned users show as avatars in the task list.
For personal tasks, you can leave assignments empty.
Checklist items
Use the Checklist to break work into steps.
- Click Add an item.
- Enter each step.
- Tick items as they are completed.

Pins and completion
- Pin important tasks to keep them at the top of the list.
- Mark tasks complete using the checkbox or by moving them to Completed in Kanban.
Best practices
- Use clear, action-based task names ("Send draft contract").
- Keep descriptions short and specific.
- Add due dates to prevent forgotten tasks.
- Use checklists for multi-step work.
Tips and troubleshooting
- Cannot link a record: choose a reference type and search by name or number.
- Task not saving: make sure a task name is entered.
- Overdue flags: update the due date if priorities change.
